Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 15,034 separate houses in the area, 1,562 medium density dwellings, and 32 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Hillarys in 2021 shows that 90.2% of all dwellings were separate houses; 9.4% were medium density dwellings, and 0.2% were in high density dwellings, compared with 62.9%, 25.9%, and 11.1% in the Churchlands respectively.

In 2021, a total of 94.4% of the dwellings in Hillarys were occupied on Census night, compared to 92.8% in Churchlands. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 5.6%, which is smaller compared to that found in Churchlands (7.2%).
