Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Marangaroo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (643 people or 13.3%)
  • Retail Trade (570 people or 11.8%)
  • Construction (540 people or 11.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,753 people in total or 36.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Tapping employed 14.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.5% in Retail Trade; and 12.2% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Marangaroo and Tapping were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (6.7% compared to 4.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (5.6% compared to 3.3%)
