Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Clarkson in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,055 people or 14.8%)
  • Construction (770 people or 10.8%)
  • Retail Trade (744 people or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,569 people in total or 36.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Tapping employed 14.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Construction; and 10.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Clarkson and Tapping were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (6.8% compared to 5.6%)
