Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Koondoola in 2021 compared to Girrawheen shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 29.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 17.8% were one-parent families, compared with 25.0% and 16.5% respectively for Girrawheen.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.4% compared to 28.3% in Girrawheen while the proportion of couples without children was 17.8% compared to 18.9% in Girrawheen.
