Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups of Clarkson in 2021 compared to Marangaroo shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 22.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 9.2% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.4% and 17.5% respectively for Marangaroo.
The major differences between the age structure of Clarkson and Marangaroo were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (8.5% compared to 6.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (9.1% compared to 6.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 70 to 74 (2.6% compared to 4.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (0.5% compared to 2.4%)

From 2016 to 2021, Clarkson's population increased by 902 people (7.2%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.39% per year over the period.
The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 60 to 64 (+200 persons)
- 35 to 39 (+199 persons)
- 55 to 59 (+186 persons)
- 10 to 14 (+161 persons)
