Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Tweed Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (5,265 males or 26.4%)
  • Professionals (2,940 males or 14.7%)
  • Labourers (2,934 males or 14.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 11,139 males in total or 55.9% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 24.1% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 14.3% in Professionals; and 13.8% in Labourers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Tweed Shire and Regional NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (26.4% compared to 24.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (9.1% compared to 12.2%)
