Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Murwillumbah and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (749 people or 16.9%)
  • Retail Trade (469 people or 10.6%)
  • Construction (430 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,648 people in total or 37.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Tweed Heads West employed 19.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Retail Trade; and 13.2% in Construction.
