Analysis of the car ownership of people born in China in the City of Townsville in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that 91.0% of people born in China were in households that owned at least one car, while 6.2% did not, compared with 93.6% and 5.2% respectively in Regional QLD.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a similar proportion that owned just one car; a similar proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 33.9% of people born in China were in households that owned one car; 42.7% owned two cars; and 14.5% owned three cars or more, compared with 33.8%; 42.8% and 17.0% respectively for Regional QLD.
There were no major changes for the population born in China in City of Townsville between 2016 and 2021.
