Analysis of the household/family types of Italian speakers in the City of Townsville in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a higher proportion of Italian speakers in couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 37.1% of Italian speakers were in couple families with child(ren), and 9.0% were one-parent families, compared with 31.0% and 9.5% respectively for Regional QLD.
There were a lower proportion of Italian speakers in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of Italian speakers in lone person households was 16.4% compared to 16.9% in Regional QLD while the proportion in couples without children was 31.2% compared to 34.7% in Regional QLD.
