In 2021, 37,907 people aged 35 to 54 years living in the City of Townsville were employed, of which were working full time and 24.1% part time.

Dominant groups

The size of the City of Townsville's labour force aged 35 to 54 years in 2021 was 39,422 persons, of which 9,144 were employed part-time and 26,784 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status of people aged 35 to 54 years (as a percentage of the labour force) in the City of Townsville in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a similar proportion in employment, as well as a similar proportion unemployed. Overall, 96.2% of the labour force aged 35 to 54 years was employed and 3.8% unemployed, compared with 96.2% and 3.8% respectively for Regional QLD.

Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population aged 35 to 54 years in the City of Townsville in 2021 shows that there was a similar proportion in the labour force (78.8%) compared with Regional QLD (78.4%).
