Yarraman - Rural North's employment statistics are an important indicator of socio-economic status. The levels of full or part-time employment, unemployment and labour force participation indicate the strength of the local economy and social characteristics of the population. Employment status is linked to a number of factors including Age Structure, which influences the number of people in the workforce; the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area and; the education and skill base of the population (Occupations, Industries, Qualifications).

The size of Yarraman - Rural North's male labour force in 2021 was 562, of which 103 were employed part-time and 386 were full time workers.
Analysis of the male employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Yarraman - Rural North in 2021 compared to South Toowoomba shows that there was a similar proportion in employment, as well as a similar proportion unemployed. Overall, 93.8% of the male labour force was employed, and 6.2% unemployed, compared with 93.5% and 6.5% respectively for South Toowoomba.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the male population in Yarraman - Rural North in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (46.8%) compared with South Toowoomba (64.6%).
