Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Manilla and District in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Managers (216 people or 17.3%)
- Labourers (182 people or 14.5%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (173 people or 13.8%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 571 people in total or 45.6% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, NSW (Ex Syd. Newcastle, Wollongong) employed 13.7% in Managers; 11.4% in Labourers; and 14.8% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Manilla and District and NSW (Ex Syd. Newcastle, Wollongong) were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (12.1% compared to 7.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (17.3% compared to 13.7%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (14.5% compared to 11.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (12.1% compared to 17.8%)

The number of employed people in Manilla and District increased by 144 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in Manilla and District between 2016 and 2021.
