Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Swan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (5,839 males or 14.5%)
  • Mining (4,143 males or 10.3%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (3,739 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 13,721 males in total or 34.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.3% in Construction; 9.9% in Mining; and 6.7% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Swan and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.3% compared to 6.7%)
