Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Caringbah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (868 people or 13.3%)
  • Construction (800 people or 12.2%)
  • Education and Training (576 people or 8.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,244 people in total or 34.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, New South Wales employed 14.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.6% in Construction; and 8.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Caringbah and New South Wales were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.2% compared to 8.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (6.4% compared to 4.6%)
