Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gymea in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (540 people or 12.7%)
  • Construction (471 people or 11.1%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (425 people or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,436 people in total or 33.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Sylvania - Kangaroo Point employed 12.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.8% in Construction; and 8.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Gymea and Sylvania - Kangaroo Point were:
