Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of Cronulla in 2021 compared to Yarrawarrah shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 11.4% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 22.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.3% and 19.0% respectively for Yarrawarrah.

The major differences between the female age structure of Cronulla and Yarrawarrah were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 25 to 29 (9.3% compared to 4.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 85 and over (4.0% compared to 0.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 30 to 34 (8.6% compared to 5.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 10 to 14 (3.6% compared to 6.9%)
