Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Prahran in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (746 males or 18.2%)
  • Construction (391 males or 9.5%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (367 males or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,504 males in total or 36.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Malvern - Armadale Activity Centre Catchment employed 18.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 7.8% in Construction; and 10.7% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Prahran and Malvern - Armadale Activity Centre Catchment were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (9.5% compared to 7.8%)
