Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Southern Grampians Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,649 people or 21.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,253 people or 16.2%)
  • Retail Trade (667 people or 8.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,569 people in total or 46.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 7.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 16.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Southern Grampians Shire and Regional VIC were:
