Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Planning area 4 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (190 females or 27.8%)
  • Education and Training (84 females or 12.3%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (83 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 357 females in total or 52.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Planning area 5 employed 21.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.0% in Education and Training; and 13.9% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Planning area 4 and Planning area 5 were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (27.8% compared to 21.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (6.9% compared to 4.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (12.0% compared to 15.1%)
