Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Coastal South in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (117 males or 24.7%)
- Retail Trade (53 males or 11.2%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (50 males or 10.6%)
In combination, these three industries employed 220 males in total or 46.4% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, St Georges Basin - Basin View employed 24.5% in Construction; 11.2% in Retail Trade; and 4.8% in Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Coastal South and St Georges Basin - Basin View were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.9% compared to 0.0%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (10.6% compared to 4.8%)
