Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Planning area 1 in 2021 compared to Nowra shows that there was a similar proportion of step families as well as a similar proportion of blended families. Overall, 11.5% of total couple families with children were step families, and 5.6% were blended families, compared with 11.1% and 5.7% respectively for Nowra.
There were a similar proportion of other families and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 1.3% compared to 1.4% in Nowra while the proportion of intact families was 81.6% compared to 81.8% in Nowra.

The number of couple families with children in Planning area 1 increased by 330 between 2016 and 2021.
