Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural South in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Managers (232 people or 19.5%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (192 people or 16.1%)
- Professionals (181 people or 15.2%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 605 people in total or 50.8% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, the City of Greater Shepparton employed 14.2% in Managers; 13.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 17.6% in Professionals.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rural South and the City of Greater Shepparton were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (19.5% compared to 14.2%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (16.1% compared to 13.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Labourers (11.5% compared to 14.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Sales Workers (6.6% compared to 9.0%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed people in Rural South increased by 111 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in Rural South between 2016 and 2021.
