Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Greater Shepparton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,177 females or 28.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,862 females or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (1,680 females or 11.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,719 females in total or 52.8% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Rural North West employed 21.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.4% in Education and Training; and 7.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Greater Shepparton and Rural North West were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (28.6% compared to 21.3%)
