Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Salisbury in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (534 people or 17.1%)
  • Manufacturing (368 people or 11.8%)
  • Retail Trade (314 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,216 people in total or 39.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Burton - Non Urban West employed 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.8% in Manufacturing; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Salisbury and Burton - Non Urban West were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (17.1% compared to 13.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (6.0% compared to 4.7%)
