Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Para Hills in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (515 people or 16.5%)
  • Construction (349 people or 11.2%)
  • Retail Trade (312 people or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,176 people in total or 37.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Salisbury employed 15.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Construction; and 10.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Para Hills and the City of Salisbury were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (11.2% compared to 8.8%)
