Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Wandal and West Rockhampton in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (383 females or 27.8%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (280 females or 20.3%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (279 females or 20.3%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 942 females in total or 68.4% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Rockhampton employed 21.6% in Professionals; 20.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 21.0% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Wandal and West Rockhampton and Rockhampton were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (27.8% compared to 21.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (9.3% compared to 11.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (7.7% compared to 9.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (6.1% compared to 7.8%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Wandal and West Rockhampton increased by 150 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Wandal and West Rockhampton were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+62 females)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+50 females)
