Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Allenstown in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (191 females or 31.7%)
  • Education and Training (83 females or 13.8%)
  • Retail Trade (70 females or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 344 females in total or 57.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Rockhampton employed 28.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.2% in Education and Training; and 11.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Allenstown and Rockhampton were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (31.7% compared to 28.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (10.9% compared to 8.1%)
