Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Capalaba in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,122 females or 24.9%)
  • Retail Trade (556 females or 12.4%)
  • Education and Training (551 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,229 females in total or 49.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Redland Bay employed 24.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.3% in Retail Trade; and 13.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Capalaba and Redland Bay were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (5.9% compared to 4.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (12.2% compared to 13.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in construction (3.7% compared to 4.7%)
