Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Capalaba in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (1,122 females or 24.9%)
- Retail Trade (556 females or 12.4%)
- Education and Training (551 females or 12.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,229 females in total or 49.5% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Redland Bay employed 24.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.3% in Retail Trade; and 13.7% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Capalaba and Redland Bay were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (5.9% compared to 4.9%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (12.2% compared to 13.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in construction (3.7% compared to 4.7%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Capalaba increased by 481 between 2006 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2006 and 2021 in Capalaba were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+389 females)
- Education and Training (+230 females)
- Retail Trade (-117 females)
- Wholesale trade (-115 females)
