Analysis of the household/family types in West Daly Regional Council LGA in 2021 compared to Unincorporated NT (ex. Nhulunbuy and Alyangula) shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 50.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 17.7% were one-parent families, compared with 8.9% and 2.9% respectively for Unincorporated NT (ex. Nhulunbuy and Alyangula).
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 8.9% compared to 21.7% in Unincorporated NT (ex. Nhulunbuy and Alyangula) while the proportion of couples without children was 11.6% compared to 16.4% in Unincorporated NT (ex. Nhulunbuy and Alyangula).
