Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in RDA Murraylands and Riverland region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (5,698 people or 18.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,920 people or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (2,786 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 12,404 people in total or 41.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional SA employed 14.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region and Regional SA were:
