Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Public Administration and Safety (9,114 people or 26.2%)
  • Construction (4,024 people or 11.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,371 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 16,509 people in total or 47.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 7.2% in Public Administration and Safety; 9.4% in Construction; and 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
