Dominant groups
Analysis of the number of bedrooms in dwellings for children aged 0 to 4 years in City of Port Phillip in 2021 compared to IMAP area, shows that there was a higher proportion of children aged 0 to 4 years in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and a lower proportion of dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms.
Overall, 43.8% of children aged 0 to 4 years were in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and 12.8% in 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 41.1% and 15.5% for IMAP area respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling children aged 0 to 4 years in City of Port Phillip and IMAP area were:
- A larger percentage of people in 2 bedrooms (40.9% compared to 37.6%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 4 bedrooms (11.1% compared to 12.7%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 5 bedrooms or more (1.7% compared to 2.8%)
