Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Mount Barker in 2021 compared to the Shire of Plantagenet shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 16.2% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.0% were blended families, compared with 15.2% and 3.6% respectively for the Shire of Plantagenet.
