Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in West Perth in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (357 people or 18.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (277 people or 14.4%)
  • Mining (205 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 839 people in total or 43.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Crawley - Nedlands employed 10.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 3.1% in Mining.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of West Perth and Crawley - Nedlands were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (18.6% compared to 10.1%)
