Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Londonderry in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (312 males or 28.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (119 males or 11.0%)
  • Manufacturing (108 males or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 539 males in total or 49.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Kingswood employed 14.3% in Construction; 12.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 8.9% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Londonderry and Kingswood were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (28.8% compared to 14.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in other services (6.5% compared to 3.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (4.0% compared to 0.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (2.3% compared to 8.0%)
