Dominant groups
Analysis of the year of arrival for the population born in India of the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who arrived before 2001, and a larger proportion of recent overseas arrivals (those who arrived between 2016 to 10 Aug 2021).
Overall, 7.4% of the population born in India arrived before 2001, and 53.9% arrived during or after 2016, compared with 14.6% and 35.7% respectively for Greater Sydney.
