Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Northmead in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (995 females or 35.9%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (628 females or 22.7%)
- Managers (344 females or 12.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,967 females in total or 71.0% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, the City of Parramatta employed 36.0% in Professionals; 20.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 11.2% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Northmead and the City of Parramatta were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (22.7% compared to 20.8%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (12.4% compared to 11.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (3.1% compared to 4.5%)

The number of employed females in Northmead increased by 315 between 2011 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2011 and 2021 in Northmead were for those employed as:
