Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types of Korean speakers in the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of Korean speakers in couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 64.9% of Korean speakers were in couple families with child(ren), and 9.3% were one-parent families, compared with 59.2% and 9.0% respectively for Greater Sydney.
There were a lower proportion of Korean speakers in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of Korean speakers in lone person households was 4.8% compared to 5.8% in Greater Sydney while the proportion in couples without children was 17.6% compared to 20.3% in Greater Sydney.
