Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Onkaparinga in 2021 compared to Southern District shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 28.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.0% were one-parent families, compared with 26.4% and 14.6% respectively for Southern District.
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 25.1% compared to 25.2% in Southern District while the proportion of couples without children was 27.0% compared to 25.5% in Southern District.
