Dominant groups

Analysis of male individual income levels in North Sydney Council area in 2021 compared to NSROC Region shows that there was a higher proportion of males earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income males (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 43.8% of the male population earned a high income, and 14.2% earned a low income, compared with 33.7% and 22.8% respectively for NSROC Region.

The major differences between North Sydney Council area's male individual incomes and NSROC Region's male individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of males who earned $3,500 or more (20.0% compared to 14.9%)
  • A larger percentage of males who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (17.2% compared to 13.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males who earned $3,000 - $3,499 (6.6% compared to 5.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (5.7% compared to 9.2%)
