Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in George Town Council area in 2021 compared to Northern Tasmania Region shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 18.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.7% were one-parent families, compared with 23.1% and 10.8% respectively for Northern Tasmania Region.
