Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Lismore City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,336 males or 13.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,148 males or 11.5%)
  • Retail Trade (1,047 males or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,531 males in total or 35.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Northern Rivers Region employed 17.4% in Construction; 8.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Lismore City and Northern Rivers Region were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (11.5% compared to 8.2%)
