Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Shire of Northam in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (739 people or 16.1%)
  • Labourers (605 people or 13.2%)
  • Professionals (579 people or 12.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,923 people in total or 42.0% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional WA employed 17.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 12.5% in Labourers; and 14.6% in Professionals.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Shire of Northam and Regional WA were:
