Analysis of the housing tenure for people reporting a need for assistance in Nillumbik Shire in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a larger proportion of people with a need for assistance in households who owned their dwelling; a larger proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a smaller proportion who were renters.
Overall, 50.8% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households who owned their dwelling; 35.0% were purchasing, and 11.7% were renting, compared with 45.7%, 24.8% and 25.9% respectively for Greater Melbourne.
