Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Growth LGAs in SA in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Community and Personal Service Workers (6,158 females or 21.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (5,505 females or 19.3%)
  • Professionals (5,116 females or 18.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 16,779 females in total or 59.0% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Rockingham employed 22.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 19.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 18.8% in Professionals.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Growth LGAs in SA and the City of Rockingham were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Labourers (10.7% compared to 8.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (21.6% compared to 22.6%)

The number of employed females in Growth LGAs in SA increased by 5,445 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Growth LGAs in SA were for those employed as:

  • Community and Personal Service Workers (+1,421 females)
  • Professionals (+1,191 females)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (+762 females)
  • Managers (+684 females)
