Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Camden Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (6,375 males or 20.7%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (3,058 males or 9.9%)
  • Manufacturing (2,974 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 12,407 males in total or 40.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the Shire of Cardinia employed 22.4% in Construction; 7.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 12.8% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Camden Council and the Shire of Cardinia were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.9% compared to 7.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (7.0% compared to 4.3%)
