Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in Growth LGAs in WA in 2021 compared to Redland City shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 35.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.2% were one-parent families, compared with 31.8% and 11.3% respectively for Redland City .
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.2% compared to 21.2% in Redland City while the proportion of couples without children was 24.2% compared to 29.3% in Redland City .
