Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the National Growth Areas Alliance compared to South Australia shows that there was a similar proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 5.9% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.3% for South Australia.
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in the Shire of Mitchell and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (18.1% compared to 14.3%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (44.2% compared to 42.4%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (23.9% compared to 22.8%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in the Shire of Mitchell were in the age groups:
