Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Islington in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (406 people or 32.7%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (176 people or 14.2%)
- Managers (161 people or 13.0%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 743 people in total or 59.8% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, the City of Newcastle employed 29.0% in Professionals; 13.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 11.4% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Islington and the City of Newcastle were:
