Dominant groups
Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by people aged 55 to 64 years in Mosman Municipal Council in 2021 compared to North Sydney Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 15.1% of the population aged 55 to 64 years provided unpaid child care, compared with 11.5% for North Sydney Council area.
The major differences between the share of people aged 55 to 64 years providing unpaid child care in Mosman Council area and North Sydney Council area were:
- A larger percentage who Provided unpaid child care (all) (15.1% compared to 11.5%)
- A larger percentage who Cared for own child/ren (10.2% compared to 7.0%)
